If you asked us, we would tell you that any day of the year is perfect for giving lingerie. However, for ordinary mortals, it is usual to limit this type of gift to more specific dates: birthdays, couple anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, and Christmas.
We are going to take this opportunity to give you some tips when choosing lingerie to give as a gift and make this task less complicated.
Lingerie As A Gift: What To Watch Out For
As a matter of etiquette, protocol, education, or common sense, take note so that the next time you buy lingerie to give it away, it will be a success as well as a satisfactory shopping experience for you.
For the following tips we wanted to focus especially on men who want to give lingerie as gifts, so we could consider this as a gentlemen’s guide.
One last thing before we start: remember that when giving gifts, the focus is on pleasing the person receiving the gift, not on satisfying ourselves.
Tip # 1: if we start from the base that giving lingerie requires that you know the other person well, there has to be some way you can find out what sizes she wears. Put more clearly and specifically: you should be able to access the place where they keep their clothes and be able to check their sizes. This for some people is an invasion of privacy, so extra advice-guideline: it is not about dismantling and checking the entire wardrobe, but about consulting some clothes (the ones you see that you use the most is a good indicative) and in the most discreet way possible. Keep in mind that when you receive the gift you will be asked/asked how you did to find out its size. No one reads minds, and confessing that you’ve gone through all of their underwear can be a moment of embarrassment for the other person that will overshadow the specialness of that moment. As a good gentleman, make it clear that your invasion has been minimal.
In case you find different sizes, write them all along with the brand (s). Ideally, when you go to the store you have the bra, panties, and dress sizes as well as the brands. In this way, the shop assistants will have it easier to help you and you will not buy with the doubt of whether it will serve you or not.
Tip # 2: If for any reason tip # 1 could not be applied, other options within lingerie do not require knowing the bra size.
