First things first, what do we look for from the ideal dining table? In short, flexibility and quality. As many as 40% prefer extendable tables, to help squeeze in those additional festive visitors for lunch. A high standard of material, finish and design is a priority for 39% of consumers – and we’re willing to pay for it too, with 15% of prospective purchasers happy to stump up between £1,000 and £3,000 for this vibrant infographic.

The numbers also demonstrate how the dining table can have a positive impact on your family life. Parents and teenagers appreciate the importance and value of sitting together for a meal at the end of the day, while regularly eating as a family also supports better dietary habits in young children.
